Day 3 of 3 at Beacons Festival.
The day could have went two ways – rain or shine – but luckily we got shine, although the wind remained. Some of the oldest and youngest faces of the weekend popped by our art tent today to create a zine. There was also great enthusiasm for making contributions towards our collaborative zine, and much love for the idea from the journalist from the Creative Review. We got treated to a zine from one half of Dr Sketchy Leeds, while the larger than life other half and life models – today dressed as a crazy horse, unicorn, and space girl – posed just outside our tent.
The whole festival felt alive once the sun put its hat back on, and twice as many people seemed to mingle about. There were also many happy campers, pleased to get into The Space Between after an evacuation earlier in the day, caused by a suspicious package.
Although a fun-filled weekend, it was also pretty exhausting; I’m glad to off work tomorrow to recover and back home with easy access to running water and soap. It was great to work with the Loosely Bound Collective to deliver the workshops and drop-ins and hope I can help them out again in the future, or collaborate on a zine.
