sand, paint, repeat

I’ve been helping the Arthouse in Wakefield get ready for the 20:20 Print Exchange exhibition, which is launching on Wednesday. It’s been a busy day of sanding, painting, and doing it again. We are getting lots of boards ready to hang the prints from. The exhibition space is in an old office space that hasn’t been occupied in a while. It’s really nice to see it in use again for creative practice, however, its a loan and an office space so the Arthouse had to bring all the boards down to use as there is little wall spaces and they don’t have permission to alter anything.

I went with Zoe as we are also making a time lapse film about the exhibition, but got to met a couple of new people who were volunteering too, including a mature student on the Fine Art course at LCA.

I’m looking forward to seeing all our hard work in preparing the boards and space come to fruition on Wednesday night when the exhibition launches. Our film will be screened at the event, and I’ll have a print in the show too.

Weds 26 March 5pm – 9pm

Join us for the Yorkshire leg of the tour of the extraordinary 20:20 Print Exchange. In November, print makers from across the UK produce a new edition of 25 prints on paper size 20cm x 20cm, (paper size) to be included in the Hot Bed Press Print Exchange. In return, each artist receives a box set of 20 randomly selected prints, (including their own print and 19 others). This exhibition includes the full selection of all submitted prints – over 600 in total.
There will be live print demonstrations throughout the evening – take home a FREE limited edition printed poster. No need to book.
