Spending most of the week at The Print Project I’ve realised that Typeface the movie gave a rather bleak outlook on letterpress printing and my filming at Bradford Industrial Museum took a similar approach. Musing over the demise of a craft will not save it but presenting an exciting and modern craft that is accessible might actually encourage people to get involved. It would also be a better truth of contemporary letterpress printing.
Thinking positively rather than negatively about the craft will see a complete U-turn in the work that will be produced and offer a different point of view to the video ‘conversations’ out there already.
The depressing Last Letterpressers that I made…<p><a href=”http://vimeo.com/111328205″>The Last Letterpressers</a> from <a href=”http://vimeo.com/kjgthatsme”>KJG that's me</a> on <a href=”https://vimeo.com”>Vimeo</a>.</p>
The rather more contemporary and upbeat Ludlow (the only film I’ve done since re-thinking approach)<p><a href=”http://vimeo.com/112757032″>The Ludlow Typograph</a> from <a href=”http://vimeo.com/kjgthatsme”>KJG that's me</a> on <a href=”https://vimeo.com”>Vimeo</a>.</p>
